blogging sites.

You know, I find the Blogger interface a bit... boring.

I don't know very much html, and editing my formatting by highlighting is a bit of a pain without a proper mouse (since I'm blogging from a laptop computer). You would think that this is what must be bothering me, but it's not just that. In fact, I think many of the blogging sites out there are boring alone, probably because they rely on the blogs themselves to have separate and interesting flavors. However, I don't believe it should be like that. I should get to come to blogger.com and look at a beautiful user interface that isn't made up of tan, blue, and orange. It's boring, it really is. WordPress is just as simple, with its blue and white theme. LiveJournal is a bit nicer, but it still feels a little bit sterile.

The point here is, shouldn't this site be a little more interesting??
I mean, it is owned by Google, after all. Colors every day, and fancy visual representations of special days! iGoogle is crazy with all of its themes! Why doesn't Blogger get any of that?? I really do hate the blue and orange - it drives me crazy.

Well, I guess I can't do anything about it other than suck it up and go about my daily business. I guess all I can do for now is wish... I'm desperate for a redesign!!

dream of water.

루시드 폴 - 물이 되는 꿈
Lucid Fall - The Dream of Water

This song's been running through my mind again, and I say "again" because it's been a while since I've last heard it.

The acoustic guitar really gets me, and the background vocals are very nice.
Hmn... It's just so... peaceful. And the song itself is so nice, with pictures of nature it evokes.
(Well, perhaps it'd be easier to picture if you understood the words.)

Every day I've been going to sleep late, mostly because of all the daily slacking I do. Homework? What's that? It's a bother, so let's forget about it. Homework isn't the least of my problems. Going to school every day, meeting people, speaking with them, working out the daily problems, challenges, and stressors that life throws at us, the rush of getting things done, the slow crawl of getting things done... it's all tiring after a while.

There's almost never any break in sight, but this song is a relief.
It sounds like a nice life to live, where a picture is painted that's completely different from the busy and hectic life we all live in the modern world.

education.

Let's learn about the digestive system!
Here's a script I wrote up for a pretend children's TV show.
Hooray for education.

Hamburger: "Hey, kids! I'm a hamburger!"
Bun: "And I'm a bun!"
Hamburger: "We're here to show you how the digestive system works."
Bun: "We're going to travel all the way through!"
Hamburger: "Well, here we gooo!"
-down the hatch-
H: "First is the mouth, where we are cut, teared, and ground up by the teeth and dissolved by saliva!"
B: "Oh gosh, Hamburger, I'm getting crushed!"
H: "It's okay, Bun, it's only temporary! When we're soft and small enough, we'll be swallowed, and get sent down the esophagus!"
-swallow-
B: "It sure is dark in here. I'm getting pushed down tho the stomach by all the smooth muscle lining the esophagus!"
H: "Oh, here comes the stomach!"
-fssshhh-
B: "AGGGHHHH!!! IT BURNS!!!"
H: "Are you okay, Bun!? We're getting mixed into chyme right now, it should take an hour or two!"
B: "Oh God-- the acid, the acid!"
-dumped into the small intestine-
H: "Hold on, Bun. We're entering the duodenum, where we'll be digested even more by enzymes and fluids from the pancreas and the liver!"
B: "And now we're getting all of our nutrients absorbed by the villi in the small intestine?? Why, cruel world!?"
-wither-
H: "Nutrient free we are, Bun! Now we're entering the large intestine, where we'll be removed of water!"
-shooooop-
B: "Hamburger, I'm feeling... dehydrated..."
H: "Hang in there, Bun, we're almost out!"
B: "I-I see... a light..."
-plop-
-flush-

it's so hot.

It's about 11 o'clock right now and I don't think I can go to sleep.
Arrgh, it's so hot, it's like summer already.
Right after I get back from spring break, too!

But it's times like these when you're thankful to be on the swim team, despite all of the hellish training (which isn't all that hellish, considering how much some people skip and lie about). Ah, the cool, refreshing water. The strong, repugnant smell of chlorine! The distinct, stinging pain of taking water in through your nose and avoiding drowning by quickly sending it down your throat. It's good to be alive.
All pain aside, it really was nice to take a dip in this unbearably hot weather, and I think it would be great if we had practice every time it was so hot.

Summer heat is the worst, I get hot just thinking about it!
But I guess it's different for everyone.
Now, if I only had some popsicles...

gundams.

So my uncle sent me a Gundam as a gift from Korea a few days ago, and I'm suddenly obsessed with them.

The truth is, I've never really been into Gundams.
Maybe it's because I've never watched more than one episode of the anime, but I suspect that it's because the two Gundams I built in the past turned out quite poorly.
The first was a HG (High Grade) Wing Zero Gundam Endless Waltz Version, the second an SD (Super Deformed) Wing Zero (again!) Gundam.

As far as I know, there are three basic levels of GUNPLA, in order of complexity/necessary skill level.
HG = "High Grade"
MG = "Master Grade"
PG = "Perfect Grade"

Both fell apart pretty a few days after completion, and I have no idea what happened to them, sadly...

Anyway, back to the point.
After my uncle sent me a MG Destiny Gundam ZGMF-X42S, I quickly became interested in the hobby.
I've been window shopping for Gundams for a couple of days now, and I have to say that they are sexy when well built, and I don't think MG Gundams will fall apart so easily.

No, really, you have to agree that they are sexy.

Here are some interesting Gundams I've found during my search:
MG Strike Freedom Gundam
MG Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka
MG Hi-Nu Gundam
MG Strike Noir Gundam
PG Gundam Astray Red Frame Initial Production Ver. (Discontinued)

I only wish I had gotten into building Gundams sooner, because it really is an interesting hobby. Plus, Gundams look cool. Wouldn't you agree?
